In the early morning hours of april 13, 1946, the fully clothed torso of an unidentified middle-aged female was found floating in the willamette river near oak grove. On april 14, 1946, the torso's arms and legs were located in the willamette river. On october 13, 1946, the corresponding head was found in the willamette river in the oak grove area. Investigators determined that the cause of death was a blunt force injury to the head. Her head, arms and legs were then sawn off. John’s encountered a man staggering in the street covered in blood. Portland fire was called and the victim was pronounced dead on the scene. On november 15, 1996, at approximately 8:30 p.M., willie banks jr, a 19-year-old black male, was driving in his car with his girlfriend in the area of ne 15th and prescott. They decided to stop at a local grocery store. Mr. Banks went into the store to make a purchase and upon his return, discovered a subject talking to his girlfriend, who was still seated in the car. Apparently, words were exchanged between this subject and mr banks. A single gunshot rang out and mr. Banks died at that location. Mr. Banks was not armed. Witnesses at the scene describe the suspect as a black male,5’11”, 165 lbs. This subject has not been identified. Detectives believe that the shooter is known to a number of people, but these people refuse to cooperate. Over time, attitudes about incidents like this can change. On december 17, 1989, the body of william (bill) t. Mcreynolds was discovered in his one bedroom apartment at 230 ne 28th, #203 by mark rantovich. There was no sign of forced entry into the apartment and mr rantovich entered using a key previously supplied to him by mr. Mcreynolds. Mr. Mcreynolds, a 74-year-old retired clergyman, was laying in his bed, bound, and had been stabbed to death when he was found. Investigators later determined that an atm card and jewelry were missing from the apartment. Acting on records from mr. Mcreynolds' bank regarding the use of his atm card, investigators contacted a subject who used his atm card at 24th and burnside on december 16, 1989. This person described two white males who had used a card just prior to him and again just after his use. One of these white males matched the description of mr, rantovich. The clothing description of this white male also matched the clothing that mr, rantovich told investigators he was wearing that night. Mr rantovich became a person of interest in this homicide. Mark steven rantovich is a white male born august 4, 1963 and is 6', 160 lbs. He told investigators that he had no employment, was on probation at the time and that he survived by committing sexual acts for money. In january 2004, mr. Rantovich died in salt lake city, utah. Investigators would like to talk to any acquaintances of mr. Rantovich about any statements he may have made about any incidents in portland, any conversation about “bill” or any conversations regarding the death of any of mr. Rantovich’s acquaintances.Agency

On may 11, 1994, at approximately 1:20 a.M., tyrone marquette hayes was in his bedroom in the 5800 block of ne killingsworth street. Tyrone and his girlfriend were talking when shots rang out from the street. As tyrone stood up, he was shot in the head. 911 was called, emergency personnel responded and tyrone was transported to a local hospital. Responding police officers located numerous bullet strikes to tyrone’s residence. Two vehicles parked in front of the residence also suffered damage from bullet strikes. Investigators believe the gunfire originated from the street in front of tyron’s residence, and was a classic drive-by shooting. Tyrone’s girlfriend was unharmed. Tyrone’s mother, who was sleeping in another bedroom in the residence, was also unharmed. At the hospital, tyrone had surgery and was in critical condition. He later died as a result of the bullet wound to the head. Neighbors reported seeing a dark blue or black vehicle hurriedly depart the area. Investigators have been unable to determine if the occupants of that vehicle were responsible for tyrone’s death. The investigation continues.Agency

On the afternoon of tuesday, november 7, 2000, a 9-1-1 call was received asking for the police to respond to an apartment address in the 12300 block of southeast kelly st. The caller stated his cousin had just been shot by intruders into the apartment. When police arrived, they found the deceased, tyrone duane abraham, in the apartment he shared with his girlfriend, corrine hoffard. She was not home at the time of the shooting, but the two-year-old son of mr. Abraham and ms. Hoffard was in the apartment at the time of the shooting. Mr. Abraham was shot in full view of his two-year-old son and his cousin, who had placed the 911 call. Mr. Abraham’s cousin was able to provide the police with a description of the intruders. He also said one of the intruders identified himself as “jb” and was apparently known to the victim. It was also apparent from the circumstances of the homicide that the homicide was planned in advance of the intruders’ entry into the apartment. A neighbor reported seeing subjects flee from the apartment to a white 4-door vehicle which then left the area on southeast kelly st. There had been reports to the police about drug activity in the apartment complex. Mr. Abraham had been arrested for drug possession in the past and also had been known to have gang contacts.Agency

They made entry into the home where the victim, thomas swift, a 57-year-old white male, was lying on the ground of the main floor of the residence. Firefighters pulled the mr. Swift out of the house and found he had a gunshot wound. The state medical examiner later determined that mr. Swift had died from his gunshot wound. Mr. Smith was described as being a very private person and would not disclose information regarding his personal life. He was known to frequent sauvie island on columbia beach. On september 28, 1987, two young men were searching for discarded bottles for their redemption value. They were looking in an area that was commonly used as a dump site by area residents. They found the partially decomposed body of timothy hoyt. Investigators determined that mr. Hoyt was known to associate with methamphetamine users. He was last seen alive at the address of 9506 n. Edison. Prior to that address being searched by detectives, it was consumed in an arson fire. The investigation also revealed that it is unlikely that mr. Hoyt was killed at the dump site where his body was recovered. Mr. Hoyt’s body was mutilated, but not beyond recognition. The suspect(s) in this case left mr. Hoyt’s mutilated body at the location where it was found in an apparent attempt to conceal his death. It didn’t work. A person of interest in this case is john macabee geary who also goes by the name of john thorsinger. He was described (in 1987) as a white male, 5’8”, 160 lbs, blonde hair with numerous tattoos on his arms and hands. Mr. Geary does not currently reside in the portland area. Detectives are also interested in talking to joann n. Reed, also known as debra behe or yo yo. She was born in 1967. Her mother resided in the area of 162nd and powell.Agency

On september 29, 1997, a newspaper delivery man came across the victim lying in the street next to his bicycle near the intersection of north haight avenue and killingsworth street. The victim, 47-year-old white male timothy warren “timm” kruger, was deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. A witness reported seeing a small to mid-sized older model sedan with a white or light-colored hood and roof with its headlights off strike the victim at the time of the shooting. Timm kruger was reported to be an avid bike rider. He worked at freightliner on swan island and would often ride his bike to work. Timm kruger also struggled with mental health and addiction issues.Agency

On august 28, 1993, a party was being held on the 500 block of ne 80th that was being attended by various youths of vietnamese descent. At approximately 10:30 pm, a passenger in a red van began firing at a group standing outside the party. Tien hoang truong, a 19-year-old vietnamese man, was struck and died at the scene. Tien hoang truong was from seattle and was a member of a vietnamese gang out of seattle that had close ties with a local vietnamese gang. The passenger of the red van who shot at the group has been described by witnesses as being a vietnamese man, 5 foot 3 inches tall, approximately 140 pounds with black hair. The van has been described as being a 1979 chevrolet van, red in color with yellow stripe.Agency
